I attributed my : jitters to them, but here I am again tonight feeling the same way minus the : Tylenol PM. | I have a question-kind of a weird question about this medicine. I have been taking it for3 months, twice a day. I notice that when it starts to kick in and also when it begins to wear off, I have "hot flashes". I just figured I was old. My daughter, who also has allergies, ran out of her clariten, and took my pills for a few days. She startled me by telling me she felt that the allergra d was trying to get rid of all of the excess fluid in her body. She told me she was getting all sweaty and didnt want to take them anymore. Has anyone else had this experience? I looked on the internet and didnt find any mention of this as a side effect. Allegra-D is a nonsedating antihistamine plus a decongestant, pseudoephedrine. The symptoms you mention are probably from the pseudoephedrine. Its a bad idea to substitute one prescription drug for another for your child without checking with your doctor. See: |
| Allegra-D has sudafed. I just take plain allegra. Sudafed will screw up your sleeping big time. Think of sudafed as being real weak speed, or real intense caffeine. It isnt either, but the effects are similar. I almost never take sudafed. I keep some around in the generic form if I really need it. Sudafed is the trade name for pseudephedrine. |
| Thanks for your input! Allegra-D contains pseudoephedrine (decongestant), it makes some people jittery. i cant take it, id be bouncing off the walls. perhaps you can ask your doctor or pharmacist for a decongestant that doesnt contain pseudoephedrine. but, as far as eliminating fluid in the middle ear, i seem to recall that a decongestant is recommended. |
