If you want to use a combination, rather than PRN sudafed, the most rational combination is Allegra-D in the AM, and Allegra in the P Claritin 12-hr D in the AM, and an antihistamine in the PM.  R.Motz It seems that I might not have clearly explained the issue.
I have been taking Allegra-D on a regular basis ever since it was released.  I have not had any problems with my BG levels while taking it.  I am also on tight control and MDI.
Thanks for your input! Allegra-D contains pseudoephedrine (decongestant), it makes some people jittery. i cant take it, id be bouncing off the walls. perhaps you can ask your doctor or pharmacist for a decongestant that doesnt contain pseudoephedrine. but, as far as eliminating fluid in the middle ear, i seem to recall that a decongestant is recommended.
